Horse riding is Belize has been an established past time since the British Empire established it as the British Honduras.
Belize has a very mountainous terrain and many river banks, including the Belize River.
Belizean horses are much smaller compared to average horses but they are very accustomed to climbing the mud of the hillside as well as being sure-footed on the rocky aspects of the riding trials.
Jungle trials, Teek Tree plantations, mountain paths and riverside trails are all key attraction to horse riding in Belize.
Day trips are the usual arrangement and there are experienced riders on hand to guide you through the tracks. The trials are available to novice riders but it is perfect for the experienced rider for open galloping of the trials
